Therapy shouldn’t feel like a one-way street where you talk and I just nod. I am an active participant in our sessions. My clinical approach is pragmatic and action-oriented; I want you to leave the very first session feeling relieved and hopeful.
I haven't spent my entire career just sitting in a quiet office. My clinical background is wide-ranging, spanning everything from high-intensity crisis work to corporate environments where I supported employees through career stress and burnout. Because of this diverse background, I am comfortable with complexity. My approach blends interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care with practical cognitive-behavioral frameworks. I have a deep toolkit, and I know how to use it to help you navigate whatever you are facing.
I bring my full humanity into the room-including a sense of humor and colorful language. Life can be absurd, and I believe that learning to laugh at that absurdity is a vital form of resilience. I wholeheartedly believe healing can be gritty and wildly liberating because, let’s face it- life doesn’t come with a script. I’m a Minnesota native—born and raised in the rural southeast, schooled in St. Paul, and now settled in the south metro with my dog, Vinnie.
I don’t just understand these struggles from a textbook; I understand them because I’ve lived them. I’ve navigated my own hard chapters-from healing past trauma to managing the complexities of marriage, parenting, and midlife. You won’t need to over-explain the emotional toll of these chapters. I’ve walked similar paths, and I know how heavy the load can feel. My goal is to help you cut through the facade and build a life that is authentically yours.
